Sonia Lalli, Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) believes that every person carries a meaningful story—one shaped by their experiences, relationships, culture, environment, and the ways they have learned to navigate the world. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful care begins with feeling genuinely heard and understood.
Sonia holds a Master’s degree in Counselling from Yorkville University and a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria. She is also currently pursuing her PhD, reflecting her continued commitment to advanced learning and deepening her understanding of human behaviour, emotional well-being, and the complexities that shape our experiences.
Sonia takes a holistic, evidence-informed approach to counselling, recognizing that our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships, culture, environment, and lived experiences are deeply interconnected. Rather than focusing solely on the concern that brings someone to counselling, she considers the whole person and thoughtfully adapts care to each client’s individual experiences, strengths, values, and goals.
Her therapeutic approach centres around empowerment, vulnerability, self-understanding, and meaningful growth, drawing from modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Sonia works collaboratively with clients to better understand patterns, process difficult experiences, strengthen coping strategies, and develop practical tools that support meaningful and sustainable change.
